Microscope Accessories and Replacement Parts
General accessories and parts for use with microscopes. Products include lens oil, lens cleaner, slide dispensers, microscope covers, vessel holders, light cubes, and flow cells.
Many parts of your microscope can be updated or replaced including microscope lamps, lenses, and eyepieces. Replacement lamps, light sources, and power cords can extend the working lives of your microscopy equipment. New or replacement objectives and lenses can help increase the total magnification available with your microscope.
Add greater magnification or exchange your eyepiece for one with a reticule to more easily estimate the sizes of the items being viewed.
Replace or update your mechanical stage or clamps or add cell culture vessel adapters to facilitate specimen positioning.
Condensers can also be replaced, and conversion kits are available to add phase contrast, polarization, fluorescence, or other capabilities to your current system.
Some microscopes can be adapted for use with still or video cameras. Look for cameras and adapters designed for your specific microscope brand. Film and documentation-related products may also be available to support your record-keeping.
Temporary, semi-permanent, and more long-term slide storage options include:
- Slide racks that securely hold slides during staining procedures
- Folding fiberboard or plastic slide holders with horizontal indentations that keep microscope slides in place
- Slide storage boxes with vertical dividers; made from fiberboard, plastic, and wood and available in multiple sizes
- Slide holders and mailers for transporting slides safely
- Slide storage systems and cabinets for large quantities of slides or archival storage

Ted Pella Inc PELCO Center-Marked Grids, 300 mesh, 3.0mm O.D., Copper
The PELCO Grids are usually somewhat thicker than similar TEM grids made by electro plating processes which makes them stiffer and easier to handle without the danger of bending, but still maintain a good definition of the grid bars. The wide rims (350-400µm) on the PELCO Grids provide additional stiffness and minimize the potential of interfering with the sample when picking up and handling the grids with tweezers. The popular PELCO Grids were introduced 45 years ago and have found a large user base in all disciplines of TEM. The grids have a shiny (smooth) finish on one side and matte (rough) or dull finish on the other side. Grids have all been inspected before packaging. A comprehensive selection of different grid styles is offered with the standard outside diameter of 3.05mm.

A Formvar film coated with a “heavier” layer of carbon. This is the strongest and most versatile support film we produce. It is stable in the EM under all operating conditions including high magnification with high beam intensity. The films can withstand vigorous specimen preparation techniques. If the carbon surface is hydrophobic, specimen suspensions can be applied to the Formvar surface.
Electron Microscopy Sciences EMS 1/2" dia Aperture Flamer
For holding aperture discs or strips while flaming. Small discs can be flamed in the 3/16" diameter cup made from 6 mil platinum foil with a 1/32" diameter hole in the bottom to induce a good flow of air. The cup is attached by a 30 mil platinum wire to a heat resistant handle. The aperture can be hung from the hook for flaming.
For holding 1/4" to 1/2" diameter aperture discs while flaming. The flat pan is made from 6 mil platinum foil with a 1/32" diameter hole in the bottom to induce adequate air flow. A 30 mil platinum wire attaches the pan to a heat resistant handle.

Advanced techniques of thin metal film application permits the apertures to retain a clean hole edge during prolonged beam exposure. Ultra-thin, half-micron design discourages contaminant accumulation and stabilizes astigmatic conditions to provide longer life. Conventional mechanical cleaning involving costly down-time is no longer necessary. Because the foil is ultra thin, care must be taken when handling the gold foil apertures.

Achieve background-free imaging and no contact with sample surface in imaging area with this 5 mm recessed clip. Clamping area is 25 mm (1") long x 15 mm (0.6") wide. Maximum thickness: 7 mm under the clamping strips. Made of machined aluminum with brass screws.
